The sea, what hides in it and what hides in our heads. He who binds himself a joy, does the winged life destroy. He who kisses the joy as it flies, lives in eternities sunrise.
This piece by Carly Etherington and Suzanne Claire Georgiou explores the idea of two personal experiences of obsession, whether it be the fear of letting go of people, objects or, as William Blake suggests, holding on too tightly too what you hold close. We explore the addictive nature of obsession and how it can truly control someone’s body and mind. As performers we both enjoy looking at hilarity/tragedy within characters and situations. Exploring how images in our mind can be transformed through movement and text.
